Well, this is exciding. My first picture that pays tribute to a song (or inspired by a song). As well as my first Mothers Day art! As you all may know, this song was from Aladdin but was cut out due to story changes. It's a beautiful song that actually hits home for me, and it's a shame it didn't make it in the final film. But, in ture Disney fasion, it ened up in the broadway version of Aladdin. So I thought of doing this as a Mothers Day thing. Now as to why I chose these characters in piticular, let me explain:

Aladdin: Due to what I just said above, it's kinda obvious why I put him in this.  honestly like to think that he was reminising about his mom off screen and thinking about how he can make something out of himself not just for him (and Abu) but for his mom too.

Jim Hawkins: If you've seen Treasure Planet (which I highly recomend if you haven't) you'll know why he's here. He's a rebellious teen who gets into trouble, not because he's a bad kid, he just dosen't know what to do with himself. Ever sence his father left him and his mom he was basically broken and feeling sad alot, and doing stupid stuff like sky surfing through dangerous contruction areas was a way of him trying to cope with it (at least that's what I think). So you can imagine his trouble making tendisces puts his mom on edge especally since she has a busy resturuant to run.

Timon: Now I'm kinda cheating on this one, but bear with me here. If you watched Lion King 1 1/2 (witch was suprisingly decent) then you know his backstory. He was the screw up meerkat of the clan, always wrecking tunnels and just overall messing things up (alot like Flik form A Bug's Life). Not because he's a jerk or anything, he's just not very good at any of the tasks. No matter what he tries, it just ends up blowing up in his face. And after on insident with the hyenas, witch almost got his uncle (and possiblly everyone else) killed, he's pratically shunned by everyone, except his mother. Dispite her protest, he desides it's best for everyone (including himself) that he left to strike out on is own. Now it was never actually stated that his mom was disapointed in him or he thought that she was. But I think that part of him felt that he let her, and the rest of the coloney, down in some way. And the only thing to do was to move on.

So there you have it, my Mothers Day contribution on deviant art. Albeit a day late, but oh well. At least it's something. I hope you all had a great Mothers Day and nice time with your moms.
